Confidentiality Policy

Our commitment

Client information is confidential from the first conversation. Our staff and contractors are bound by written confidentiality obligations, access is limited to the people working on your matter, and we will sign an NDA on request before any technical disclosure.

Unpublished inventions

Unpublished patent applications and trade secrets are never shown publicly, never included in listing teasers, and never sent to an AI service unless we have a signed zero-data-retention agreement with it. Until then, drafts for unpublished inventions are prepared automatically on our own servers.

Technical safeguards

• Encryption at rest (AES-256-GCM) and in transit (TLS)
• Private storage; downloads need both a signed, short-lived link and an authorised account
• Malware scanning of every upload
• Watermarked data-room downloads, with every download logged
• Files attached to internal staff notes are never visible to clients or other parties
• Tamper-evident audit log of access to orders, reports, KYC documents and data rooms

How long we keep your documents

• Documents you upload for an engagement (invention disclosures, specifications, financial data): 90 days after final delivery, then permanently deleted.
• Specifications uploaded for an invention summary, and the text extracted from them: 90 days after you approve the summary, or immediately when you delete it.
• Invention summaries and their versions: Until you delete them.
• Final reports, engagement letters and our working papers: 8 years from delivery.
• Signed NDAs and marketplace term sheets: 8 years from signing.
• Invoices, payment and tax records: 8 years from the end of the financial year.
• KYC / KYB records for valuation orders and marketplace transactions: 5 years after the account or transaction ends.
• Marketplace data-room documents: 90 days after the deal closes or the listing is withdrawn.
• Enquiries, calculator submissions and quote requests that do not become engagements: 24 months, then deleted.
• Security and audit logs: 8 years.
• Your account profile: Until you close your account, plus up to 30 days in encrypted backups.

Disclosure

We disclose confidential information only with your consent, to service providers bound by equivalent obligations, or where the law requires it — in which case we will tell you, where we are legally allowed to.

Public report registry

To let anyone check a report is genuine, our registry shows its ID, status, type of IP and issue date. It never shows the client, subject, purpose, people involved or value.
